Story behind Kohta

A solution from three women to combine work and the great outdoors as smoothly as possible.

Entrepreneuring since 2020

We have all been working remotely from Ylläs, both permanently and while travelling. The idea of a coworking space that would make life up the fells even better started to form based on our own experiences. In the spring of 2020 we brought our ideas together and decided to set up a business to make working life better with the great outdoors on our doorstep.

Kohta opened its doors in November 2020. With our three woman band we want to offer our clients a chance to enjoy the life up the fells while working with their normal jobs. On the same go we hope to improve the resource efficiency of outdoor destinations as existing services and infrastrucutre can be more efficiently used also otuside holiday peak seasons. We want our clients to have a chance to find the best services and experiences available up the fells, and therefore we collaborate with other entrepreneurs in Ylläs to offer you tips and deals we consider best in Ylläs.

Hanna-Riina

Hanna is a designer with a curious heart. She’s always up for an international adventure. At Kohta, Hanna takes care of customer experience and visual aspects, and she also makes sure proper local Tornio river dialect is spoken when needed.
Heidi

Heidi is multi-skilled in outdoor life and based in Ylläs since many years. Our official fell guide has also been educated in commercial aspects. At Kohta, Heidi coordinates sales and marketing activities and leads the business as a CEO.
Paula

Paula is life-long fan of Northern latitudes with specialization in sustainable development. She looks after the financials and chairing of Kohta board meetings, and takes care of the Kohta aloe vera farm.
